The paintings are personal explorations in subjects and materials, in which a painted reality is sought. This means that both the subject/point of departure* and the painting** are both important, complement and reinforce each other, and alternately require attention.
* The work is figurative, the subject is depicted truthfully. There is certainly a love for realistic parts and detailed exciting details. Of course, the subject itself also tells its story, allows itself to be seen and experienced. ** The painting is built up in layers where the painting and the paint remain visible and are not completely subordinated to the representation. Translation into the medium also means searching for painterly solutions, for simplification and essence, for things that have to do with painting such as the structure of space, light and color, composition. ‘Images’ (productive and reflective) are my thing. Active and considered talented as a child, dozed off as an adolescent, blossomed at the Academy. Then I'm started working, autonomously, but also as a teacher and after the 2nd Visual Communication study, again as teacher (Media Design) and also as designer.
