Charcoal
h: 21 w: 30 d: 1 (cms).
In this drawing, a light shines through the darkness of a dense forest, illuminating what would otherwise remain unseen. The work explores the philosophical tension between presence and absence. How even a single lamp can fundamentally alter our perception of reality. The dark forest represents those moments in life when we feel overwhelmed, while the artificial light embodies clarity that breaks through. In our darkest times, it is often the smallest sources of light that guide us forward. Framed with non-reflective museum grade glass

Citizenship is part of the Citizen series, in which the artist reflects on the relationship between humans and nature, as well as the idea of universal citizenship – being part of the world beyond borders and divisions. The titular touch is understood here as a state of return to the source, to the primordial connection with nature, which provides a sense of safety and strength. The structural surface of the work, reminiscent of organic weaves and layers, evokes the rhythm of nature – its constant growth and movement. The starting point is the softness of grass – equally delicate in different places – whose touch brings a feeling of home and unity. This simple gesture of engaging with nature becomes a metaphor for shared experience, connecting people regardless of location or differences.

Collage on paper
h: 15 w: 10 d: 1 (cms).
In 2024, I made 366 collages on rejected postcards, attempting to capture time or a year in collages. I still enjoy working in this small format. I commute between two living/working locations and therefore work in formats that I can take with me on the train. The small format helps me to just get started and not be afraid to experiment. This particular collage incorporates a few personal items. Namely, a calculation of a knitting pattern from when I was a teenager and a doodle I made while on the phone. I used to keep all these little pieces of paper. It is precisely these small and varied marks that add an extra layer to this collage.

For me as an artist the beauty of simple things is very important. I like to see beauty in what surrounds us every day. Like the morning sun shining through the yellow glass of a small vase on a table by the window. We don't need much effort to be surrounded by beauty, we just need to learn to see.

oil and gold leaf on canvas
h: 20 w: 20 d: 2 (cms).
"Something Small IV" is part of a series that explores the hidden world of bees, insects, and the unnoticed forces of nature. The composition wants to remind the style of the insect’s collections. These delicate beings, painted with precise care and shimmering gold, represent presence, purpose, and the quiet strength in the small. This collection magnifies the overlooked, reminding us that even the tiniest life holds profound beauty and symbolism. A poetic ode to mindfulness and transformation, each piece asks the viewer to slow down and listen.

Rayograph
h: 15 w: 10 d: 1 (cms).
Xylotheque #1 is a work rooted in memory and material connection. It began with fragments of Murano glass I collected, reminders of my Venetian home while living in London. Using the rayograph, a camera-less photographic process, I placed the glass directly onto light-sensitive paper. The resulting forms appear at once alien and organic, recalling the anatomy of flowers. I came to see them as specimens of curiosity, echoing those once preserved in cabinets, (Xylotheque), referring to wooden cases used historically for botanical collections. The works were made in a controlled, camera obscura–like space, where intention met chance to produce unique, unrepeatable prints. Each is presented in a tulipwood frame with museum-quality, anti-reflective, UV-protective glass, recalling archival displays. Xylotheque series, transforms fragments of personal significance into objects of curiosity, blurring the boundaries between memory and science, the familiar and the alien.

Oil on Canvas
h: 25 w: 20 d: 4 (cms).
In this work, I focus on a forgotten corner of a bath towel. Soft and absorbent, it bears witness to our most private moments of cleansing, of washing away the grime and becoming bare. I have chosen to render this humble terry cloth through the rich, glossy medium of oil paint, to explore a quiet paradox: we use it to pat dry the most public of our privates – water on skin – whilst it itself becomes damp, heavy, and casually folded in the process. This unassuming corner stands as a symbol for the small, repetitive, yet essential things that form the fabric of our daily lives. It is a touch of comfort, a ritual of purification, and a silent companion at the close of each day. By elevating its stature and bestowing upon it the dignity of a classical painting, I invite the viewer to consider how it is these very minor caregiving objects and daily rituals, so often taken for granted, that sustain us against an overwhelming and chaotic world.

Acrylic on Paper
h: 15 w: 9 d: 1 (cms).
This painting isolates a segment of a beach umbrella, focusing intently on the intricate drapery and folds of its fabric. These are not mere creases; they are a record of the wind's passage, the sun's trajectory, and the weight of the summer air. In the vast, public expanse of the shoreline, this umbrella creates a modest, intimate domain—a temporary refuge for a single individual or a small family. My work examines this small matter of canvas and shadow, rendered with the luminosity of oil paint to capture the way light both defines and dissolves the forms of the folds. It is a meditation on the small, vital sanctuaries we construct for ourselves against the immense, elemental forces of sea and sky. The umbrella is a humble, portable architecture, and its weathered cloth speaks of countless days of quiet protection.

Oil on Canvas
h: 30 w: 20 d: 4 (cms).
This work presents a stark reduction to its most essential forms: an expanse of sea at night, and upon it, a single, geometric block. It is an exploration of the profound significance that a small, structured presence can hold within an immense and chaotic void. The vast, dark sea represents the scale of problems and uncertainties that can feel paralysing. The block, by contrast, is a 'small matter'—a deliberate, human-scale intervention. It could be an idea, a principle, a solitary act of courage, or the individual within the collective. Its sharp edges and defined form do not fight the darkness but simply exist within it, asserting its own logic and integrity. In focusing on this minimal composition, I ask the viewer to consider the monumental power of the small and the defined when set against the formless and the vast. It is a testament to the idea that even the most modest structure can become a vessel, capable of carrying meaning across the dark seas of the incomprehensible.

Mixed textile media (cotton, felt wool, synthetic fibers)
h: 25 w: 25 d: 3 (cms).
Hormones within women's bodies, seemingly insignificant and ineffable, intricately intertwine to create the complex and nuanced experience of menstruation. These bodily sensations are embedded within daily life, merging to form embodied, emotional, and very personal lived experiences. Using textile materials of various colours and textures, I employ weaving, a medium historically connected to women's labour and liberation, as my means of expression. Through knotting, wrapping, and layering techniques, I materialise invisible, intimate, and historically stigmatised bodily experiences. The inherent ambiguity and uncertainty of the materials allow for openness, messiness, fluidity, and richness in representing menstruation, making invisible experiences visible, tangible, and open to discussion.
